OGGETTO / STORIA

Contesto storico

The Order of the Golden Fleece was founded in Bruges in 1430 by Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy. In historical dress, the hanging fleece was often the part people recognized first. This piece follows that idea with the fleece at the front, but it is historical-style jewelry, not an exact replica or official insignia.

For a heavier and more formal interpretation of the Golden Fleece collar, compare the Livery Collar Amadeo Fleece. Learn about the order’s insignia in our guide to Golden Fleece regalia.
