Roman amphorae were made to be handled. You lifted them, carried them and felt their weight. These earrings borrow that familiar jar shape and turn it into a long drop that you notice as soon as you put them on.

In Roman and Greek times amphorae were used to transport wine olive oil cereals garum and perfumes. Their shape was practical and sturdy rather than decorative. These earrings take that jar form and use it directly as a hanging element.
