How to wear it

If you want a necklace like this to wear over a simple doublet and you're not a very large person, a length of 90-100 cm would be enough to ensure the chain of office doesn't hang too low.

On the other hand, if you plan to wear it over a cloak, historical coat, or something similar, or if you're a larger person, I recommend a size of 110-120 cm or even longer (feel free to let me know before purchasing).
In these cases, if you don’t want the chain of office to hang forward, which by the way looks really bad, I’d also recommend using a safety pin on each shoulder to secure it. Another option could be to sew it with a couple of stitches on the shoulders and forget about any issues. Just remember that you have the chain of office sewn or secured to the shoulders when you take off your cloak or coat.
