A brass-finish Maltese cross livery collar with double fleur-de-lis links, made to read clearly over a doublet, robe or period clothing. It has a balanced mid weight feel, with more presence than a lightweight collar while staying practical for reenactment, theatre, Renaissance fairs and historical events.

Story & historical basis

Livery collars were worn in medieval and Renaissance Europe as visible markers of service, allegiance, office or rank. They often used repeated heraldic devices, creating a collar that could be read clearly in portraits, public dress and formal historical settings.

This design combines two recognisable European motifs. The eight pointed cross recalls the visual tradition associated with the Order of St John and Malta, while the fleur-de-lis has long been used in European heraldry and ornament.

This is not an official order insignia or a replica of one surviving historical collar. It is a historically inspired livery collar designed for modern reenactment, stage costume and historical dress.
