Roman crotalia earrings inspired by Pompeii finds and Fayum portraits - designed to feel like a true Roman piece.
Four freshwater pearls per earring, made to move and softly chime like historical crotalia.
Lightweight for long wear and finished in a warm gold tone.

Story & historical basis

Flavia follows Roman crotalia earrings documented in archaeological finds from Pompeii and other Roman sites, and in Fayum portraits.
Each earring carries four dangling pearls to recreate the movement associated with original crotalia designs.
Inspired by museum references - modern replica, not an excavated artifact.

Materials, size & closure

• Pearls: freshwater pearls, natural “potato” shape, approx. 5 mm (4 per earring)
• Metal & finish: fine 24k gold plated components (zamak connectors + brass pins)
• Nickel-free: components compliant with EU jewelry standards
• Approx. size: 4.5 cm length (including closure) / 2.5 cm width
• Approx. weight: ~3 g per pair (approx.)
• Closure: choose your preferred closure from the selector above

Jewelry Care

• Keep dry; avoid perfume/cosmetics on metal and pearls

• Store separately in a dry pouch/box to protect plating and pearl surface

• Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth after wear
